Starting A Home Business May Be Your Ticket
My ticket to where?
Well, you name it.
Where is it that you need to go? Wherever it is, starting a home business just might take you there.
In this economy, people are looking for a ticket out of circumstances they find themselves in (mostly through no fault of their own).
Many who placed their future in the hands of their employer now realize their eggs were not safe in that basket.
People contemplating retirement must have thought they were trapped in an episode of Angry Birds as they watched their nest eggs dwindle causing them to rethink their retirement plans.
Perhaps you are among the thousands who have watched their single largest asset (for many of us, our homes) spiral downward.
For some, a combination of these circumstances has created financial crises never before experienced or at least an attention –getting financial insecurity that motivates one to look for solutions never before considered.
Or maybe you’re just frustrated with where you are in life and what you are doing. The job, while a blessing in this economy, takes all your time, saps your energy and leaves you empty and unsatisfied.
Take Ownership Of Your Life By Starting A Home Business
When I was still working in the corporate world, I was at a social function and I overheard two senior executives in our company talking about their jobs. I heard enough of the conversation to sense that neither was happy in his job even though they were both in the upper echelons of the company. The comment that one made I have never forgotten. He said, “The problem is they own us.”
“They own us?” Think about the tragedy of what that implies. It has the ring of slavery doesn’t it? By most standards of success, these men would have been poster boys. They had nice homes, cars, boats, stock options, huge salaries, etc., but they felt trapped. They went to work every day to a job they didn’t like because they needed it to support their life style.
What or Who Owns You?
Is it your debt? Would starting a home business be your ticket out of debt?
Is it your fear of being a burden to your children? Would starting a home business be your ticket to supplementing your retirement income?
Is it your paycheck to paycheck existence? Would starting a home business be your ticket to building a cushion of savings for emergencies and some extras to add some fun in your life?
Is it your job that requires so much of you that you are robbing your family of your involvement in their lives? Would starting a home business be your ticket to a better family life?
I could go on but you get the idea. Think about your own circumstance. Do you own your life? Congratulations if you do but most don’t.
Let me encourage you to put some things in motion today that will put you on the path of owning your life. It may take a while but you need to start now and be consistent and relentless in the journey that will take you there.
